Firstly, did you know that 1 in 29 children suffer the death of a parent or sibling every year in the UK? It’s a heartbreaking statistic but thankfully there are some fantastic people and organisations, such as Grief Encounter, supporting these children when needed.
Though various ways, including group workshops, one-to-one sessions and even a national help-line, Grief Encounter aim to be there for every child navigating the confusion and trauma of grief.
At Hand on Heart, giving back is incredibly important to us. We’re extremely proud of our charity partnership with Grief Encounter; every year, we aim to raise vital funds for this amazing cause. In September 2022 we donated 10% of profits from our Memorial Jewellery range (Memorial Ashes Jewellery, Self-fill Ashes Jewellery and Memorial Fingerprint Jewellery) to Grief Encounter.
Any customer who ordered a piece of jewellery from the memorial range throughout September will have receive a card in their order letting them know where the donated money is going and how their order has helped this amazing charity.
As a result of our fundraising efforts, we are really proud to have been able to raise another £1,755 in September for Grief Encounter, this amounts to 100 hours of 1:1 counselling or 192 calls to the grieftalk helpline and takes our total amount donated to over £5,000
