Today, we’re sitting down for a chat with Kay Nicholson, our Hand on Heart marketing manager.
Kay is our marketing mastermind and is based in our sales office. She’s responsible for our online presence across all platforms, from planning to delivery. Kay manages all of our marketing campaigns, including everything from content creation to paid search, social media and email marketing. She really is a jack of all trades, master of all!
Kay has worked at Hand on Heart for four years. After graduating from Lancaster University with a degree in marketing, she worked in a marketing agency for four years, working with various clients across many industries. Kay says that when the opportunity arose at Hand on Heart, it was the perfect time to move to an in-house marketing role.
Kay, what’s your favourite part of your role at Hand on Heart?
I love that no two days are the same - from planning campaigns and creating new content to monitoring campaign analytics, there’s so much variety.
Do you have a favourite task as part of your job?
I love planning, so I would have to say my favourite task is designing and implementing new marketing campaigns and strategies – any excuse for a spreadsheet!
Has any customer feedback or reviews of Hand on Heart really stuck out as being memorable for you?
The wedding jewellery reviews really are so touching. Brides and grooms have worn our memorial necklaces and cufflinks to have their loved ones with them on their special day. “I bought this for my wedding day so my dad could be with me as I walked down the aisle”.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
When I’m not at work, you can find me in the gym, with friends or anywhere that involves food (and a glass of wine!)
What’s your favourite thing about living and working in the Lake District?
Walks with the most beautiful views on our doorstep.
Do you have a favourite Hand on Heart piece of jewellery? If so, what is it and why?
One of my ultimate favourite pieces is the Handwriting Heart Necklace. It’s such a beautiful way of keeping a loved one close using an old note or greetings card. I love that we often piece together letters to make words which makes it so special.
If you had to sum up your job at Hand on Heart in three words, what would you say?
Fun, collaborative and rewarding.
